Solid Wood
At Vaste, we work almost exclusively with solid wood and natural oils for our furniture. This means your pieces will require a little extra attention over the years, but it also means they will be infinitely refurbishable. A well cared for Vaste piece should out live your grandchildren. To best maintain the surface of your table, we suggest using placemats during meals and following the maintenance instructions below:
Solid Wood Daily Care:
Clean with a clean, damp cloth, then wipe with a dry cloth to thoroughly dry the surface. Occasionally, or as needed, use Osmo Cleaning Soap (diluted 1:10 with water) to remove more stubborn stains. Household cleaners that may contain harsh chemicals, alcohol, or ink removers should never be used on the surface.
Solid Wood Medium to Long-Term Care:
To restore the original luster to a surface that has developed a patina, you can use Osmo Wax Cleaner. Apply with a clean, white cloth over the entire surface, then wipe in the direction of the wood grain using the same cloth. The table will be dry to the touch in 2 hours and ready for use after 24 hours.
Finished Leathers
Finished leathers are smooth with a satin finish. Their breathable and protective coating makes them particularly suitable for heavy use, such as in commercial spaces.
Leather Daily Care:
Clean with a clean, damp cloth. For tougher dirt, use a pH-neutral soap and rinse. Repeat if necessary.
Leather Medium to Long-Term Care:
Occasional use of Spinneybeck's Finished Leather Cleaner, Conditioner, and Protector is recommended. It can be purchased online here, follow the usage instructions available on Spinneybeck's website.

It is important to us that your furniture lasts over time. Please contact the Vaste team for any maintenance or repair service such as refinishing or reupholstering.
Dune
The Dune chair was initially designed as part of the renovation project for the Le Parlementaire restaurant at Quebec's National Assembly. The success of the chair's distinctive backrest, carved from a solid block of wood to resemble the sweeping crest of a sand dune, led to the development of a full collection of seating inspired by the same design concept. We now offer two chair styles, stool, and bench.
