We work with Oak and Walnut, both species which are native North American woods. We offer the oak in either a natural finish or all black. Our natural finishes are environmentally friendly oil based products which are formulated to keep highlight and conserve our woods natural beauty.
Care & maintnance
Solid Wood
At Vaste, we work almost exclusively with solid wood and natural oils for our furniture. This means your pieces will require a little extra attention over the years, but it also means they will be infinitely refurbishable. A well cared for Vaste piece should out live your grandchildren. To best maintain the surface of your table, we suggest using placemats during meals and following the maintenance instructions below:
Solid Wood Daily Care:
Clean with a clean, damp cloth, then wipe with a dry cloth to thoroughly dry the surface. Occasionally, or as needed, use Osmo Cleaning Soap (diluted 1:10 with water) to remove more stubborn stains. Household cleaners that may contain harsh chemicals, alcohol, or ink removers should never be used on the surface.
Solid Wood Medium to Long-Term Care:
To restore the original luster to a surface that has developed a patina, you can use Osmo Wax Cleaner. Apply with a clean, white cloth over the entire surface, then wipe in the direction of the wood grain using the same cloth. The table will be dry to the touch in 2 hours and ready for use after 24 hours.
Upholstery
Our standard options
We use only the finest quality Italian leather for our upholstered seats. This luxurious material is known for its superior softness, durability, and natural grain. The leather is carefully selected for its rich colour and texture, and is then expertly crafted to create a seat that is both comfortable and stylish.
Care & maintnance
Finished Leathers
Finished leathers are smooth with a satin finish. Their breathable and protective coating makes them particularly suitable for heavy use, such as in commercial spaces.
Leather Daily Care:
Clean with a clean, damp cloth. For tougher dirt, use a pH-neutral soap and rinse. Repeat if necessary.
Leather Medium to Long-Term Care:
Occasional use of Spinneybeck's Finished Leather Cleaner, Conditioner, and Protector is recommended. It can be purchased online here, follow the usage instructions available on Spinneybeck's website.

Signature combinations
Black on Black
Bold and captivating, black on black has a strong presence in contrasts with lighter rooms or will seamlessly blend with other dark tones for a moody atmosphere.
Black walnut and black leather
A timeless classic, like black on black, the darker tones will lend themselves to a moody atmosphere but the chocolate brown wood allows for a warmer traditional aesthetic.
White Oak and Tan
Warm, natural, earthy tones, reminiscent of Scandinavian styles. A great versatile option for creating a cozy and contemporary atmosphere in any living space
White oak and Cream
A lighter tone on tone option not unlike white oak and tan if you want a softer and more subdued feel.
